Grammy Award winners Drake and Chris Brown are officially friends again after months of fighting. Both super stars were spotted in a studio in L.A yesterday October 2nd in a friendlier mood. There are no reports if the two are working on a song together or Drake was just visiting Brown to listen to his unreleased tracks, but it’s obvious that their beef may be squashed.

Rihanna’s ex boyfriends were allegedly happy to see each other last week at the IHeart Music Festival as they hugged themselves and moved off. “Drake came on Friday with his whole crew, and watched Chris’ entire set,” a source said. “They were backstage hugging and drinking.”

However, Chris Brown’s Facebook post today confirmed both stars have pushed aside their differences and are ready to get back to making good music for the rest of the world. Brown’s words were, “Hanging with Drake In The Studio,” and further attached a link to video recordings of all the colleagues who have shared studio time with him in the past including, Will.i.am, Big Sean, Brandy, Nelly, Drake and Lupe Fiasco…ehm…Keri Hilson, Tyga and Lil’Wayne were not mentioned!

Super star, Rihanna has released the video for her stripper anthem, “Pour It Up”. The new video,released yesterday, goes to discredit the “Twerk Queen’s” (Miley) reign as a raunchy artiste, which she has enjoyed in the last few weeks. The Grammy award winner is seen rocking the “badt gial” look in blonde wigs and dollar bills, diamond bras and stripper heels in the meanest way.

Rihanna may not have approved of Miley’s twerking at the MTV VMAs, but her unbelievable intimate pole dance in this new video may as well tell Miley to do whatever she wants because, as she says, “I bet you’ve never seen b***hes twerk on water.”

Young Nigerian music superstar, Wizkid, is currently on set shooting the music video for his hit song, “Jaiye Jaiye”. The video shoot is directed by ace filmmaker, Sesan, and photos emanating from the shoot show Wizkid in a nature-themed location, and also a in a street setting.

The song “Jaiye Jaiye” was released in May 2013 and it featured Afrobeat legend, Femi Kuti. Femi, however was not present at the video shoot location.

<b>Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, staff embark on strike over pay</b>

Staff of the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, on Friday shut down their offices at the Abuja headquarters to protest what some described as illegal deductions of their salaries by the management of the commission. The CAC is the agency responsible for company registrations in Nigeria.

Lawyers who besieged the commission's office in the Maitama District of Abuja to incorporate new firms, conduct corporate searches and conduct other businesses left disappointed.

'The workers said they will not work until the management stops deducting their pay illegally,' one lawyer said.

Akpabio presents N70bn supplementary budget to legislature...

Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom on Thursday presented a supplementary budget of N70 billion to the State House of Assembly for approval.

The Clerk of the House, Mandu Umoren, presented the budget to the legislators at a plenary session in Uyo.

The N70 billion supplementary budget is for capital expenditures to enable the state government complete all the ongoing projects.

The governor appealed to the legislators to expedite action on the passage of the supplementary estimates as submitted.

The state assembly, had earlier, passed a budget of N351.29 billion for the year 2013.

<b>Nigeria will welcome expansion of bilateral relations with uae - President Jonathan</b>

President Goodluck Jonathan Friday in Abuja called for an expansion of bilateral relations between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates UAE), saying that Nigeria will welcome greater direct investment from the UAE for the development of its power, agricultural, oil and gas, communications and solid minerals sectors.

Speaking at an audience with the UAE's Minister of Energy, Mr. Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, President Jonathan said that he looked forward to the early conclusion of agreements for the protection of investments and avoidance of double taxation between the UAE and Nigeria which are expected to boost the inflow of investments from the emirates to Nigeria.

‘Skelewu’ creator, David Adeleke, (Davido), is one young chap who has got everything going for him at the moment. The ‘Gobe’ crooner, who was almost an unknown quantity in Nigerian music three years ago, has become so large that the money has continued to roll-in in millions, what with various endorsement deals, foreign concerts and other sources of revenue.

<b>Ex- Rivers Speaker dies in Algiers</b>

The immediate past Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tonye Harry, is dead.

Harry died in Algiers, the capital of Algeria while he was being flown to France for medical treatment for suspected heart failure.

It was gathered that Harry, who represented Degema Constituency in the state assembly since 1999, was in the plane when his condition became worsened mid-air.

That development forced the pilot of the chartered aircraft to land in Algiers so that he could be resuscitated in that North African nation medical facilities.

Following the lingering universities' teachers' strike that has kept students at home for over three months, a lawyer, Daniel Onwe has approached a Federal High Court, Lagos to compel the Academic Staff Union of Universities to resume work.

Joint in the suit with ASUU is the Federal Government, which Onwe stated was responsible for the strike action.

In a motion on notice brought pursuant to Section 46(1)(2) of the 1999 Constitution, and dated September 30, Onwe prayed for an order of court to compel ASUU to call off the strike it embarked upon to protest the unwillingness of government to implement certain aspects of the agreement both parties signed in 2009.

<b>APC expresses deep sorrow over plane crash</b>

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has condoled with the families of all those who died in Thursday's plane crash in Lagos and prayed for the speedy recovery of those who were injured.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Friday by its Interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party expressed shock and deep sorrow at the double tragedy, considering that the crash involved the remains of the late Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Agagu, as well as his family and friends.

It prayed that God will give Dr. Agagu's family and the families of all the victims the grace and strength to tide over the calamitous occurrence and the difficult days ahead.

Nollywood actress, Eniola Badmus, is not a happy lady at the moment. The bulky role interpreter is one of those who counted their losses in the fatal plane that crashed in Lagos State, Nigeria, yesterday, as it was conveying the remains of former Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Agagu, for burial.

Inside the plane were Eniola’s uncle, Tunji Okunsanya, the boss of M.I.C Undertakers and his son, Tunji Jnr, who is Eniola’s cousin.

<b>Airtel Seychelles Signs MOU To Undertake Pilot Testing Phase Of Mobile Payment Project</b>

The Seychelles Government has agreed for Airtel Mobile Commerce (Seychelles) Limited, to engage in a pilot programme to test the practical and technical aspects of mobile payment services in the country.

The Central Bank of Seychelles (CBS) and Department of Information Communications Technology (DICT) will have oversight of the payment system and technological aspects, respectively.

On Friday 27th September, 2013, the Government represented by the Ministry of Finance, Trade and Investment, the CBS, and DICT signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Airtel to bring the M-commerce platform, Airtel Money, to Seychelles.

<b>Osun govt issues N10bn Islamic bond</b>

The Osun State Government has issued a N10bn ($62m) Islamic bond (sukuk) at 14.75 per cent, making it the first Islamic bond from a major economy in sub-Saharan Africa.

The cocoa-producing state received N11.4bn in total subscriptions for its seven-year paper, from asset managers and Islamic funds.

The offer closed on Monday.
The offer was the same Osun State paid last year for a conventional seven-year bond worth N30bn.

Sukuk has become an increasingly popular investment globally, particularly among cash-rich funds in the Gulf and Southeast Asia.

<b>Obi donates N1b to secondary schools in Anambra</b>

Governor Peter Obi of Anambra on Wednesday gave out N1 billion to public and mission secondary schools in the state to improve their laboratories and libraries.

Presenting the money in Awka, Obi said that over 500 secondary schools in the state would receive N2 million each for the improvements.

'We are beginning to do a new thing for the future of our children which had never been done before in the state'', he said.

He assured that his administration was committed to improving the standard of learning for students for the overall benefit of the state.

Hip Highlife singer, Chinedu Okoli, (Flavour N’Abania), is still single and that is authoritative. The ‘Onyi Na Tum’ crooner has come out to deny that he is engaged to his United States of America based girlfriend, Beverly Heels, contrary to what many have been peddling.

The former Presidents of the Senate, Senators Ken Nnamani and Adolphus Wabara, as well as all former presiding officers of the National Assembly are to lose their rights to hold diplomatic passports and the privileges accorded the status of diplomats when they travel outside Nigeria.

Following the consideration and adoption of the report of the House Committee on Interior on a Bill for an Act to Amend the Passport (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, Cap P1 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004, the heads of two paramilitary institutions, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and Nigeria Fire Service, have also been removed from the list of Nigerians eligible to be issued diplomatic passports. The bill was designed to clearly define persons eligible for the issuance of diplomatic and official passports in Nigeria.

<b>Govt increases tariff on imported cars</b>

The Federal Government on Thursday said a new tariff on the importation of cars would be announced soon.

The move will make imported cars more expensive thus, promoting the purchase of locally manufactured vehicles, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Olusegun Aganga, said during a chat with journalists in Abuja.

Aganga said the old tariff had been reviewed upwards, adding that the new tariff had already been approved by the Federal Government.

This, he added, was part of measures to develop the Nigerian automotive industry.

<b>FG promises port of entry visas for foreign investors, tourists</b>

In a bid to boost tourism and foreign investment in Nigeria, the Federal Government is offering investors visa to tourists and businessmen at the entry ports.

The Minister of Culture, Tourism and National Orientation Edem Duke, announced this yesterday in Lagos, at a press conference by United States Franchise Trade Delegation to Nigeria.

The US Commercial Service, in partnership with the International Franchise Association (IFA )and Franchise Times hosted the trade mission.

He said Nigeria has transformed into one of the most popular business destinations in the world, adding that the trend was likely to continue as a greater number of towns see an increasing number of investors and tourists.
