Kate Moss is to team up with her husband, The Kills’ rocker Jamie Hince, to record a song for her 40th birthday.

The 39-year-old supermodel – who turns 40 on January 16, 2014 – is teaming up with her husband Jamie Hince, the guitarist for indie rockers The Kills, for a rock track but she has decided to keep it to her friends and family’s ears only rather than release it as a single.

A source close to the blonde beauty said: ‘She’s working on the song at the moment with husband Jamie Hince. It’s shaping up to be a rocky number about her iconic career. ’Kate really wanted to mark the milestone birthday by recording the track and playing it at the big party she’ll be having.’

Kate is no stranger to the music business having previously provided vocals for Primal Scream’s 2003 version of ‘Some Velvet Morning‘ and The Lemonheads‘ ‘You’re a Dirty Robot’, and should her song be a success by her family and friends then she is expected to think about a career in music.

The source further told the Daily Star newspaper: ‘If it’s good, she said it may prompt her to consider a record deal and properly pursue her musical aspirations.’

As well as joining her ex-boyfriend Pete Doherty on stage at Glastonbury in 2007, Kate has appeared in several music videos including Primal Scream’s ‘Kowalski’ and she pole danced in The White Stripes’ video for their 2003 hit ‘I Just Don’t What to Do With Myself’.
